Susie And Allie (Christmas With...)
"In the excitement of opening his presents, Allie mistakes Susie for a Christmas ham, and - in a momentary lapse of self-control - swallows her whole...".
Oh, Lordy! I nearly lost it after my first listen to this little treasure. Direct to you from Tammy Faye Bakker and the PTL, come Susie & Allie. Beyond-the-pale hilarity in the form of two puppets "singing" Christmas songs, punctuated with needs-to-be-committed dialogue. Both voices are provided by Tammy Faye - Susie, the little girl who looks quite a bit like a pig under those blond pigtails (and sounds like a cross between Little Marcy and the infamous Lulubelle, only without the charm), and Allie the "dragon", I think - he might be a snake (an odd symbol for a Christian kids record) who sounds like a constipated hungover wannabe baritone, only slightly more off-key.
The 365 Days Project says it "stand[s] on [its] own as an incredibly strange torture device that God would forcefully condemn from entering the Pearly Gates". IMHO, each song is a delectable morsel, but "White Christmas" is destined to become a cult classic. Produced by Tammy's then-husband Jim, prior to his fall-from-televangelism-grace (he was later involved in an infidelity scandal and was kicked out of the PTL). In shrink (partially torn on back)
