Herrera, Ray (Her-Ray)

Obscure and highly-collectible LP on the Sims label. The cover speaks for itself; and the music is coveted, too. As described by Tony Wilds in the All Music Guide:

"An obscure 'Latin lounge' album, Her-Ray Herrera is full of charm. These folks hail from Ohio and Texas but have played the East Coast and Caribbean. Charlene Lovett has enough of a voice to have been in a duo with her sister Colleen as the Lovett Sisters, itself a spinoff from father Joe Lovett's Orchestra. Char sings four tracks, which are bound to be the favorites. 'I'll Always Love You (Querida Mia)' is a duet recalling Abbe Lane and Xavier Cugat. Of the five originals distinguishing the first side, the instrumental 'Wild Eddie' is a nice, piano-led double mambo.... And for a true lounge-act album in the Latin style, it is a singular, rare treasure".
